At the unique and historic Majestic Theatre in nearby Pomona you can enjoy yesteryear through silent movies accompanied on the restored organ.
Steam Train Ride-
Travel the Mary Valley Rattler Steam Train from Gympie out through the cute villages of the Mary Valley. Such a thrilling experience for both adults and children.

Craft Brewery-
If you enjoy special beers you will enjoy those at the Bonzai Brewery located in the historic building in Cooran. If you wish to eat whilst there, their pizzas and salads are tasty.
Museums-
The discovery of gold in Gympie saved Queensland from bankruptcy and an excellent museum tells the story. Noosa shire museum in Pomona because once upon a time the shire was head quartered in Pomona.
Cheese Factory-
Sample free cheese at the Kenilworth dairy/factory. It makes an interesting addition to your local touring.
Farmers Markets-
Apart from the nearby famous Eumundi Markets, (Wednesday/Saturday), there are attractive markets in Pomona, Yandina, Kin Kin and the Tewantin Marina.
Art Galleries-
If you enjoy art and artists, you will find plenty in the region. Tewantin Houses, The Noosa Shire Gallery, with others in Cooran, Cooroy and Pomona.
Noosa Botanic Gardens-
These quite extensive and beautiful botanic gardens are located on the banks of Lake McDonald and make for a pleasant walk through and you may be lucky enough to catch an open air concert.
Maleny and Montville-
These two locations make for a pleasant day trip through a pretty countryside. Take a picnic lunch or enjoy one of their great restaurants.
Golfing-

Mount Coorora
A race up Mount Cooroora in Pomona is held annually in July. Perhaps YOU can beat the record time of 24 minutes up and down??
Or make it a leisurely climb!
Sailing
If you have a small sail boat bring it with you and sail on Lake Cootharabah.
Wineries
Take a tour through the local wineries, part of the growing queensland wine industry. Enjoy wine tasting with restaurant dining should you desire. Verdelho is the star local grape variety.
